|Service Corporation International Elects New Director|
HOUSTON, Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Service Corporation International (NYSE: SRV), the world's largest funeral and cemetery company, announced today that its Board of Directors has elected Victor L. Lund a Director of the Company effective February 10, 2000. His election fills a vacancy in the class of directors whose terms expire at the 2001 Annual Meeting of Shareholders of the Company.
Mr. Lund, age 52, is currently Vice Chairman of the Board of Albertsons, Inc., the second largest supermarket company in the U.S. Prior thereto, Mr. Lund served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of American Stores Company. He had 22 years of experience at American Stores Company in various positions, including President, Chief Financial Officer and President of the Western Operations. Mr. Lund also serves on the Boards of Directors of Albertsons, Borders Group, Steiner Corporation and myjobsearch.com.
